Tooth #5

Tooth #5 broke through the skin sometime in the last 24 hours. I felt like mom of the year when I picked him from the babysitters and saw the top of the new tooth (I didn't expect a tooth anytime soon because he hasn't shown any signs of discomfort.)

First WORDS!!

WHOA! I want to crawl in bed and pretend this is not happening. Luke said his first WORDS today. He said something that we are assuming means momma multiple times today. While we were playing on the floor with Toby he would repeat ball after I said it. Of course it wasn't as clear as ball, but it sounded like baaah. I am counting these as his first words.

Sorry I have been MIA. Life is stuck on cruise control at about 90 mph. Luke is doing great! He is crawling, pulling up on everything and doing his best to stand on his own after letting go. He eats anything that is offered to him. He is still nursing like a champ, but not yet sleeping through the night. We can't have it all :) He is the happiest little guy.

We are gearing up for Halloween. I can't wait to show you his costume!

Teeth!

Yes, that is plural. One tooth broke through yesterday morning and the second one sometime today. Sunday day and night Luke was restless. Read... no.naps.all day. Monday the sitter called to let me know he was very unhappy. This was the first time she ever called :( Mommy panic set in. I picked him up and we headed home. I *thought* he was coming down with something. Another night of multiple wake ups. He was back to my smiling baby yesterday morning.

First Birthday Outfit

If I was confident what size he would wear in November, then I would have already bought it. I then found some good decor ideas for his birthday party. I'm 98% sure that it will involve sock monkeys!!!

That was proof that I am that bored some days. On that note, I am working a half day on Friday. I'm not dreading it, yet.

Big Sigh of Relief

We finally decided on who will watch Luke. Best of all, it is someone I know and trust. (To give you some insight, I won't leave him with even my MIL. Yes, I may be just a little bit over protective.) She lives about 10 minutes from work. We were originally undecided if we wanted him closer to home or work. We decided it would work better if he is closer to work. I could go and nurse him on my lunch break if I wanted. With him being close to work, it will make doctor appointments easier since I will not drive all the way home and then back to hid doctor, since they are off Beach.

Sorry to ramble, BUT this is a huge relief. So, now the countdown to return to work begins. About 3 weeks left at home.

6 week post partum visit

All is healed :) I was happy to step on the scale to see 11 pounds lighter than prepregnancy. Woot! Now, if it will just continue. I want to lose another 20 pounds, but will not be dieting anytime soon. I am terrified of messing with my supply.

I was disappointed when my OB said she would wait at least 6 weeks before starting Zumba. She thinks it is a little to intense for a healing uterus. Looks like we will keep on walking.

New Years Eve

I think C has lost his ever loving mind. He wants to get a babysitter for New Years Eve. I am so not ready for this. :(

Target Clearance Score

C and I didn't want to end up with a lot of bottles that Luke wouldn't take. We bought 3 Avent and 3 Tommee Tippee prior to his arrival. He has taken the Avent without a problem. I was hoping they would go on sale prior to me returning to work. I did not want to pay $18.99 per 2 pack. Target saved us a lot on bottles :)

I saw two 3 packs of Avent bottles on the bottom shelf and I did not see a coordinating sticker on the shelf, so off to the price checker I went. An error message came up about item not found. I asked the associate if she could find a price. She brought them back to me and said they are $3.24. SCORE! I bought the only two boxes that they had. Thank you Target for selling me 6 bottles for less than the price of one single bottle.

Wild Hair

C and I have decided we might as well have as much fun with Luke and his hair while he has it :)

Stepped on the scale

First, I know it has only been 11 days, but curiosity got the best of me.

Da dum dum.... I weigh 1 pound less today than I did the day my pregnancy was confirmed at my OBs office. I am ecstatic. My stomach looks nothing like it did prepregnancy, but I'll dwell on the numbers until I can get in an exercise regimen.

First Bottle

I pumped some due to my right breast becoming engorged after Luke's circumcision. Luke had his first bottle today. It was only 2 ounces, but he did not have any problem with the bottle or breast feeding after he finished the bottle.

I feel human today

It may sound bad, but I was beginning to go stir crazy. Luke did great for his pictures. We are going to have dinner at another couples house tonight, SO looking forward to it.

One week doctors visit

Luke gained 6 ounces from his appointment on Monday (Up to 8 pounds 6 ounces). Looks like my milk is definitely helping him out. He is definitely happier now that he isn't as hungry.

Tomorrow is Luke's newborn photo session. We went shopping for some clothes today. The clothes that I bought prior to his arrival are to big, hopefully they will fit for Christmas.

Luke must have known that daddy needed some sleep

Last night was a "dream". I feed Luke around 9. I woke him up around 1 and then he woke me up around 5. Easy breezy, I wish every night was like last night.

Today we will be napping and cuddling while daddy works :)

A Day of Rest

No appointments today and no visitors during the day means a day of lounging and napping. We needed this. Clinton goes back to work tomorrow. I feel good, so he doesn't NEED to stay home. We decided he should go back and take some more time off in a few weeks.

First Pediatrician Appointment

Little man lost to much weight :( The pediatrician said if he doesn't gain any back by Friday, then we will need to start supplementing with formula. I do NOT want this unless absolutely necessary.

He weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce today. He did have 6 meconium diapers in the 24 hours prior to the appointment, so she thinks that was at least 5-6 ounces. I *think* my milk is coming in and she seemed confident this would boost his weight.

Rough night

Our first night home was a little rough. Luke acts like he is starving, my milk isn't in and we don't know his cries yet. Clinton was amazing and did anything asked or what he thought would help.
