Luke passed his bio-physical profile. The physician that we were scheduled to see ended up going to an emergency C section, so we saw one of the others. The physician that we saw, was the one that wanted to induce at 37 weeks. I was NOT looking forward to seeing her.
She came in said everything looked good, but we needed to schedule a date to get this boy out. Clinton and I had agreed that we would be honest with her and told her we really hoped to attend Clinton's grandmothers funeral on Monday. When I replied to her with this statement, she asked could she check me and strip my membranes if I was dilated at all. I agreed. I had heard horror stories about how bad it hurt. I didn't think it hurt. Some pressure like a pap, but nothing that made me want to scream or cry.
As we were walking towards checkout, the physician says, I hope you have to cancel your appointment next week because you have a baby in your arms. Sounds great, but I did laugh.
Stripping the membranes is not guaranteed to do anything.

Maternity Pictures
It was a chilly afternoon. Which I had NOT planned for. I assumed it would be in the 70s. Nope, it was 56 degrees when we left our house for the pictures.

Cleared to Return to Work!
Had our followup ultrasound and non-stress test this morning and Luke scored a 10/10.
When I asked to return to work the nurse and physician started laughing. The nurse said you are one of the only women that I have dealt with that wants to be working. Doctor joked about women asking to being taken out of work before they finish the first trimester. Ok, so maybe I am odd? I have absolutely EVERY intention to work until I can not. Staying home is boring. I obviously can not shop all day, every day.
My BP was at a level that he would "accept". I'm still supposed to take it easy.
We have our maternity session this afternoon, excited and and nervous at the same time.

Stubborn little boy in there
Had my scheduled ultrasound/appointment this morning. Lay down for the ultrasound at 9:25, typically it is a 5-10 minute deal and then on to the appointment. Luke did not want to move. No big deal to me, I felt him kick earlier in the day. Ultrasound tech is starting to freak out. She said he has until 10 to move or I am going to have to give him a bad score. Ok, that is fair. She pushed and prodded and pushed some more. Do you think this little boy moved? Nope. He was practicing his breathing the entire time, but he had to move two different body parts as well. Needless to say he did not pass the ultrasound (bio-physical profile).
Back to the waiting room to wait for the next step. Clinton nor I were concerned. This seems to be typical for Luke. Next step is 25 minutes on the non-stress test. He moved! It satisfied the physician for the day, but he wanted to repeat the test within 24 hours. We scheduled the followup for 7:30 on Saturday.
Will update after the appointment.

Bed Rest.. AGAIN!
Boo!
Yesterday I felt "off". Achey neck with black spots in my vision. Had my BP taken at work and sure enough it was elevated. Called the OB and didn't hear back for SIX hours. I wasn't overly worried, just irritated that they told me to call if it was over a certain level, but they didn't bother to return the call in a timely manner.
Had my regular appointment and NST scheduled for today. BP was up again this morning, but I knew I would be seeing them soon. Luke danced all around while on the NST today (good boy). The OB, C and I were going over our questions when the OB says, wait your still working? (This is the one that sent me to L&D last time) He was NOT having that. He did warn that he will not think twice about intervening with this pregnancy/birth if the BP continues to increase. I agreed as long a it didn't mean automatic c-section.
So baaaack on light duty (what he called it). He said I can not work, but I can do light things.
I cried, like a baby. I really lost it in the car. I know this is best for Luke and myself, but this is not how I pictured the last 4-5 weeks of my pregnancy going.

Great news!!
Had my follow up appointment this morning. No MORE BEDREST!!! The plan now is work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning. I have an appointment Friday afternoon and we will go from there regarding the bed rest.
My blood pressure was down to what is normal for me (100/70). There is a chance that I could be put back on bedrest if my BP spikes again. Clinton and I made a little plan to hopefully allow me to work. Again, the longer I work, then longer I get to stay home with Luke.
Luke was very stubborn during the NST today. He would not wake up or move. So we ended up with another ultrasound. The boy is going to have some hair and what appears to be fat little cheeks. My heart melted when Clinton was talking to him on the elevator ride back down stairs. It went something like this...
C: Your mom and I need you to cooperate for a few more weeks in there. I am
getting more and more excited to meet you.
L: (Clinton using his baby voice to have Luke talk back) Dad I'm moving now, what
else do you want me to do?
C: I know your capable of moving up a storm, but we need you to move when we are
at the doctors appointments. You stress me out when the doctors get that look
of concern on their faces.
Ok, maybe it doesn't sound as cute now. Guess you just had to of been there.
Other exciting news... We have made arrangements to have maternity pictures taken on November 6th. Last night a photographer (that we know) called Clinton to see if I would be willing to let her try some new ideas on me. Of course! Looks like we will get to have two maternity sessions. Hoping to get some great pictures out of both of them.

Bed Rest
A little update from Saturday...
Turned in my 24 hour collection, had repeat labs and monitoring done from 5pm-8pm Saturday evening. Lab work was still good. 24 hour collection did show some protein, but my blood pressure was down the entire time. The OB discharged us home, but on bed rest. I was told I could get up to eat and go to the bathroom.
I have my regular appointment tomorrow morning, so I will be asking what is the plan.
This is driving me crazy and it hasn't even been long. I fully planned to work until my water broke. Every day I am at home, means less time I can stay home AFTER Luke is born :(.
I'm an emotional wreck at times because I want this time at home later, not now.
